OverviewPacific Coast Trade School is proud to announce the IPC J-Standard-001 Training and Certification Program. Adopted for use by the Department of Defense, J-Standard certification describes the materials, methods, and acceptance criteria for producing soldered electrical and electronic assemblies. The purpose of the certification is to rely on process control methodology to ensure consistent quality levels during the manufacture of products.
The curriculum of the IPC J-Standard-001 Training & Certification Program at Pacific Coast Trade School consists of three modules: Surface Mount Technology (SMT), Thru-Hole Technology, and Wire Terminal & Terminals Assembly and Soldering Moreover, individuals will receive training on lead soldering and lead-free soldering practices.This certification class is a 4-day training session and it is a combination of both theory lecture and hand-on exercise, which cover the subjects that are presented in the J-Standard-001 examination. The IPC J-Standard-001 Training and Certification Program has recognition, legitimacy, and value throughout the electronics industry. The instructor is a highly qualified, certified, and registered IPC instructor. Moreover, IPC J-Standard-001 Training & Certification Program provides students with high quality materials and detailed instructional plans to become successfully trained operators.
Individuals who successfully complete this class will be awarded an IPC J-Standard-001 Operator Proficiency Certification, which is valid for two (2) Years. Students who do not pass the examination will strictly be granted one opportunity for re-test.

Dates: Sessions available monthly or as needed basis
Time: 5:00pm to 10:00pm. There is a 30-minute break scheduled at 7:00pm. This course is 1 to 2 weeks course.

Target Audience: Assemblers, production operators, rework operators, inspectors, technicians, quality control, manufacturing and process engineers, as well as managers who desire to expand their comprehension of the process and quality criteria in the IPC/EIA J-STD-001 Specification and/or receive verification of their hadn soldering skills.
Requirements: • Minimum six months work experience • Completion of GED • Training Program
